The Houston Dynamo announced today the launch of a free mobile application for iPhone and Android phone users. The app is now available for a free download at the iTunes store for all devices running iOS 5.1 or higher and the Google Play store for all devices running 4.0.2 or above.
“This mobile app is an important part of our marketing efforts going forward,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “Our strategy has shifted into a digital and social space, and the app will be the centerpiece of it all going forward. This is a quality product and Dynamo fans are going to find great value in having it.”
The app is a collaboration between the Dynamo and ChaiONE, a Houston-based company that has previously designed apps for The Methodist Hospital System and Microsoft. The app is a continuation of the Dynamo’s commitment to provide expanded coverage of the club through its digital platforms including Dynamo TV and the new digital matchday magazine.
“This was an exciting project for the ChaiONE team to work on because we are all huge Dynamo fans,” said ChaiONE Founder and CEO Gaurav Khandelwal. “It’s nice to see the Dynamo recognize the opportunity that mobile can provide to enhance their brand and delight their fans. We were honored to have played a part.”
The new Dynamo app will provide iPhone and Android phone users with the most up-to-date Dynamo information. The app will include a news feed and the latest Dynamo TV videos as well as schedules, scores, standings, biographical information for each player on the Dynamo and easy access to stay connected to all of the Dynamo’s social media platforms.
The Dynamo defeated the Chicago Fire 2-1 on Sunday to set the MLS record with 35 consecutive home games unbeaten in all competitions. The men in orange will head north this weekend to take on Toronto FC before returning home to host the Colorado Rapids on Sunday, April 28.
