The United Soccer League announced its new alignment and schedule format for the 2016 regular season and playoffs on Wednesday.

With the addition of six new teams in 2016—Bethlehem Steel FC, FC Cincinnati, Orlando City B, Swope Park Rangers, San Antonio, and Houston Dynamo affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC—a total of 29 teams will compete in the new USL season.

The teams will be separated into two conferences, with RGV FC placed in the Western Conference. Teams will play a 30-game schedule across 27 weeks, kicking off on March 25 and ending on September 25. The top eight teams in each conference earn a berth into the 2016 USL Playoffs, a single-elimination tournament to crown the USL Champions.
