Houston's—and the nation's—eyes were fixed on NRG Stadium on Monday night for the NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship, and Villanova's buzzer-beating three to topple North Carolina. Houston Dynamo midfielder Zach Steinberger was right there for the moment, and his reaction was the same as all of ours.
Steinberger's shock was probably matched with added grief by Dynamo and Dash UNC alums Rob Lovejoy, Sheanon Williams, Tyler Deric, Jalil Anibaba, Amber Brooks, and Kealia Ohai.
It seems that the only ones coming away from the game with smiles on their faces were Big East alum Rachel Daly (St. John's) and Philadelphia-area native Carli Lloyd.
