Dynamo Academy U-14s travel to Cayman Islands for invitational tournament

The Houston Dynamo Academy U-14s are headed to the Cayman Islands for the 2017 Cayman Airways Invitational U15 Youth Football Cup, hosted May 2-7.


The tournament features a dozen teams from around the world, including 2016 tournament winners Manchester City. Other teams include: Alchemy DSC (Minnesota), Bahamas National U15 Team, Cavalier Soccer Club (Jamaica), Cuba National U15 Team, D.C. United (MLS), Harbour View FC (Jamaica), IMG Academy (Florida), La Ceiba FC (Honduras), and Trinidad and Tobago National U15 Team.


The Dynamo will face D.C. United, Manchester City, and Trinidad and Tobago in the group stage. The three group winners and best second place finisher advance to the semifinals.


This is the second consecutive year of participation for the Dynamo. Last year, they also faced D.C. United, Manchester City, and the Cuba National Team in the group stage. Manchester City and Cuba advanced out of the group and ended up facing each other in the final.
