TEAM NOTES:

  • The Dynamo used their eighth different starting lineup in eight games thus far on the season.
  • After starting in a 4-3-3 formation for the first six games of the season, the Dynamo opened the game in a 4-4-2 formation for the second consecutive game.
  • The Dynamo donned their black kits for the first time this season.
  • Houston outshot Toronto 19-10 in the game. The Dynamo’s 19 shots tied for their most on the season, equaling their 19 shots vs. Minnesota on April 15.
  • Houston had a season-high 11 shots from outside the penalty area in the game. The team’s previous high was seven, which they did in the season opener vs. Seattle (March 4) and vs. Minnesota on April 15.
  • The Dynamo tied a season high with nine corner kicks in the game. Houston also had nine corners on April 8 at New England and April 15 vs. Minnesota.
  • Houston’s 493 passes attempted in the game were a season high, topping their previous high mark of 472 at New England on April 8.
  • The Dynamo completed 79.3 percent of their passes in the game. It marked the third consecutive game in which the team’s completion percentage has surpassed 79 percent.
  • The Dynamo conceded the opening goal for the fourth time this season. Houston fell to 1-3-0 on the year when conceding the opening goal of the match.
  • Toronto FW Jozy Altidore’s goal in the 16th minute snapped a 137-minute shutout streak for the Dynamo. That was the longest such streak of the young season.
  • The Dynamo trailed at halftime for the first time this season. Houston trailed at intermission six times last season and was 0-4-2 in those games.
  • The Dynamo conceded just their third and fourth goals in the first half this season. Houston conceded once in the first half at Portland on March 18 and vs. the New York Red Bulls on April 1.


INDIVIDUAL PLAYER NOTES:

  • MF Alex attempted 68 passes in the game, one shy of the high by a player on the team this season. DF Dylan Remick attempted 69 passes at New England on April 8.
  • Alex made his 46th start overall for the Dynamo and the 94th of his MLS career. If he continues to start every game, Alex would start his 100th career game on May 31 at home vs. Real Salt Lake.
  • MF Eric Alexander made his seventh start of the season, his 10th as a member of the Dynamo and the 137th of his career tonight.
  • DF DaMarcus Beasley wore the captain’s armband for the second consecutive match. He wore the armband 15 times as a starter in 2016.
  • Beasley made his 155th career start and 67th as a Dynamo tonight.
  • MF Juan David Cabezas made his third start with the Dynamo and his second in a row tonight.
  • DF A.J. DeLaGarza returned to the Starting XI after missing the last three games with a right calf injury, making his 201st career start in tonight’s game.
  • FW Alberth Elis received his third caution of the season when he was booked in the 58th minute for a challenge on Toronto GK Alex Bono.

  • DF Adolfo Machado started his eighth consecutive game. He and Alex are the only two players to have started every game this season.
  • FW Mauro Manotas made his 38th career MLS appearance when he came on for FW Alberth Elis in the 73rd minute.
  • FW Romell Quioto made his sixth appearance when he came on as a substitute for MF Boniek García in the 56th minute.
  • FW Vicente Sánchez made his fourth appearance of the season when he came on for MF Eric Alexander in the 83rd minute.
  • FW Erick Torres attempted a team season-high six shots in the game, including a game-high three on goal. The previous high by a player in a game was five shots, which happened in three different games.
  • Torres made his 15th start for the Dynamo and his 59th overall in MLS play.
  • With tonight’s match, Torres has played in 37 games under Dynamo head coach Wilmer Cabrera and 37 games without Cabrera as his coach. Torres has 22 goals in 37 games under Cabrera and had just seven goals in 37 games without Cabrera as coach.
  • GK Joe Willis made his 52nd career start and his third in a row tonight.
