Four Houston Dynamo players saw action Thursday night for their respective nations for FIFA World Cup qualifying, with mixed results.
Adolfo Machado went the full 90 minutes at right back for Panama, helping to keep a shutout for a 0-0 draw on the road in Costa Rica. The tie moved Panama to a 1-1-3 record (6 points), but dropped them into fourth place after the night's other results.
All three Dynamo Hondurans – Alberth Elis, Boniek GarcÃa, and Romell Quioto – made it onto the field in a 3-0 loss to Mexico at Estadio Azteca. Elis started and played all 90 minutes, while GarÃa and Quioto came on as substitutes in the 53rd and 60th minute, respectively. The appearance was the first playing time for Quioto since May 20 against Atlanta United, when he suffered an ankle injury.
Los Catrachos now sit in 5th place in the Hex with a 1-3-1 record (4 points). They face Panama on Tuesday night (8:25 p.m. CT | beIN Sports).
DaMarcus Beasley was available as a substitute but did not appear in the Unites States' 2-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago. The U.S. travels to Mexico on Sunday night in a clash between the regional heavyweights (7:30 p.m. CT | FS1, Univision).
