Dynamo Match at FC Dallas Rescheduled to Aug. 25 for FS1 Broadcast

Texas Derby Rescheduled

The Houston Dynamo’s match at FC Dallas originally scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 24 has been moved to Sunday, Aug. 25, Major League Soccer and the clubs announced today. The change was made in order to accommodate a national television broadcast on FS1 as part of the league’s Heineken Rivalry Week coverage.

That match will now be Houston’s fifth nationally-televised contest this season and will be the second Texas Derby match this year to be shown nationally. Kickoff for the match is set for 7 p.m. CDT.

The Dynamo defeated FC Dallas 2-1 in the first leg of the Texas Derby on Saturday afternoon thanks to a pair of goals from forward Mauro Manotas. The win puts Houston out in front in the race to secure El Capitán, the Texas Revolutionary War-era cannon that goes to the victor of the annual series. The series winner will be decided in the return leg on Aug. 25.

The Dynamo are 6-1-1 on the year and are off to the best eight-game start to a season in club history. With 19 points through eight matches, the Dynamo lead all MLS clubs in points-per-game at 2.38 so far this season. Houston travels to the Pacific Northwest this weekend to visit Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday night at 9 p.m. CDT. That match will be televised locally on KUBE 57.
