The Houston Dynamo have loaned defender Erik McCue to Rio Grande Valley FC for their match at Reno 1868 FC later this evening, the club announced today.
McCue, a product of the Houston Dynamo Academy, signed a professional contract with the Dynamo on Oct. 30, 2018 and has made two appearances this season for RGV FC. He made his professional debut with the Toros on March 29 in a 2-1 loss at Tulsa Roughnecks FC, starting and appearing in 88 minutes. Additionally, he featured in a 2-2 draw versus LA Galaxy II on May 18, subbing into the match in the 84th minute and playing the rest of the game.
RGV FC goes into Wednesday’s match with a 5-7-4 record overall and 1-5-2 mark in away matches. Reno 1868 FC are 8-4-5 on the year and 5-1-3 at home. In their two matches last season, the teams fought to a 0-0 draw at H-E-B Park on May 2, while Reno 1868 FC defeated RGV 4-0 at Greater Nevada Field on September 26.
