Minnesota United FC can move back into second place in the Western Conference when they take on a Houston Dynamo side that is winless in their last seven when the Western Conference foes square off at BBVA Stadium Wednesday night.

The Loons (13-9-6) currently are third in the West, one point behind the second-place Seattle Sounders. Buoyed by a first-half brace by Mason Toye, Minnesota United defeated LAFC, 2-0, Sept. 1, becoming the first team to beat the runaway Supporters' Shield leaders at Banc of California Stadium in league play this season. Vito Mannone made eight saves to earn his 10th clean sheet of the season.

The Dynamo (9-15-4) are coming off a 1-0 loss against Sporting Kansas City at Children's Mercy Park on August 31. Johnny Russell scored the lone goal in the 12th minute, heading in a Graham Smith cross. Houston's best chances came in the opening 45 minutes when Tim Melia had to make four of his five saves,

This is the second meeting this season with the Loons winning 1-0 at Allianz Field behind Romain Metanire's first career MLS goal, a long-range ball toward goal that bounced off Dynamo midfielder Boniek Garcia, and took a wild looping arc, slipping past outstretched goalkeeper Joe Willis in the 20th minute.
