HOUSTON (July 18, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 held on to earn a 2-1 victory versus Colorado Rapids 2 atSaberCats Stadium tonight behind midfielder Gustavo Dohmann's second goal of the season and Dynamo Academy midfielder Dylan Reyes' first professional goal. The team's unbeaten home streak now stands atseven matches.
The result marked Houston's third win over Colorado this season, completing the sweep of their three-game series. The victory also marked Jeremy Hurdle's first win as Dynamo 2's full-time head coach after his promotion earlier this week.
Both teams finished the match with 10 men after midfielder Noah Betancourt and Rapids 2’s midfielder Sebastian Siegler each received double yellow cards. Betancourt received his second yellow in first half stoppage time, while Siegler was sent off in the 87th minute.
Notably, the match saw Dynamo Academy forward Kian Walsh make his professional debut after coming on as a substitute in the third minute of second half stoppage time.
Dohmann gave Dynamo 2 the lead in the 16th minute after capitalizing on a Colorado error. The Brazilian midfielder intercepted a pass from Zach Camoagnolo and found the back of the net with a right-footed blast inside the box.
Houston extended their lead in the 23rd minute after Reyes recovered a miscontrolled ball by a Rapids 2 player and fired a low-driven shot into bottom right corner.
Colorado pulled one back in the 54th minute when James Cameron found the back of the net inside the box, following a pass from Ali Fadal.
Reyes had Houston's first shot on goal in the fifth minute, firing a shot from distance towards the bottom left corner that forced a diving save from Camoagnolo.
Dynamo 2 had a dangerous chance moments before scoring their first goal of the match when attacker SamirMohammad picked the pocket of a Rapids 2 player, played a quick one-two with forward Jahmani “JJ” Bell, and attempted a right-footed shot that forced another diving save from the Colorado goalkeeper.
Forward Arthur Sousa nearly got himself on the scoresheet in the 23rd minute when Mohammad played the Brazilian striker inside the box, but his shot found the hands of Camoagnolo following a diving save to his left.
Goalkeeper Logan Erb was called into action in the 73rd minute, with the 22-year-old reacting quickly to deny a Colorado header at the far post following a cross from a set piece. Erb finished the match with three saves.
