HOUSTON (Sept. 1, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 acquired defender Davis Bautista on a full transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga, both clubs announced today. The U-20 Ecuadorian National Team player is signed to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through June 2027, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa.

“We are excited to welcome Davis to Dynamo 2 as we continue to attract top international talent into the Club’s player pathway,” said Dynamo Assistant General Manager Nick Kowba. “Davis is a promising, left-footed defender who provides balance to the backline with his distribution and defending abilities. His experience in Germany and with Ecuador’s U-20 National Team has exposed him to demanding environments at both the club and international levels. We look forward to Davis making an immediate impact with HD2 and compete for an opportunity to advance to our first team.”

Bautista joins Dynamo 2 with European experience from the Eintracht Frankfurt system. He joined the German side in July 2023 and made 23 appearances for their second team, Eintracht Frankfurt II, in Germany's fourth division, Regionalliga Südwest, across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Notably, the defender helped the team record a six-match undefeated streak in his first few games with the club, including a 5-0 clean sheet victory in his team debut that kicked off the run.

Prior to making the move to Europe, Bautista was part of S.D. Aucas' academy in Ecuador, quickly progressing through the youth ranks before competing in Ecuador's top division. He was part of the Aucas squad that won the 2022 Liga Pro Ecuadorian Serie A championship, the first league title in club history.

At the international level, Bautista has represented La Tricolor at the U-20 level, making 12 appearances with the squad across various competitions, including the U-20 South American Games, U-20 South American Championship and international friendlies.

While fielding one of the youngest rosters in the league over the past three seasons, Dynamo 2 are currently in the midst of a strong campaign, already clinching their place in the MLS NEXT Pro 2026 Playoffs and currently sitting third in the Western Conference with a 13-6-5 (WLD) record on 48 points.
