HOUSTON (Aug. 30, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 fell 2-0 to Minnesota United FC 2 at SaberCats Stadium earlier this evening, finishing the season series against Minnesota with one win, one draw and one loss in three matches.
Despite tonight's result, Dos still holds a strong home record at 8-2-2 (WLD) and maintains the upper hand in the all-time series against MNUFC2 with a 7-3-4 (WLD) record.
Minnesota took the lead in the 48th minute when Darius Randell tapped in a loose ball after a pass was deflected inside the six-yard box.
The visitors extended their lead in the 72nd minute after Luke Hille converted from the penalty kick spot. The penalty was awarded after defender Chibuike Ukaegbu was deemed to have fouled Hille inside the box.
Houston's first shot on goal came in the 16th minute when forward Jahmani "JJ" Bell dispossessed an MNUFC2 defender, dribbled into the box and fired a right-footed shot that Minnesota goalkeeper Kayne Rizvanovich blocked away for a Dynamo 2 corner.
Striker Austin Brummett nearly found the inside of the far post in the 38th minute with a powerful low-driven shot from the right side of the box.
Goalkeeper Logan Erb was called into action in the 63rd minute, stepping off his line to deny Jordan Adebayo-Smith in a one-on-one situation with his feet. The shot stopper finished the match with three saves.
Dynamo 2 came close to equalizing in the 67th minute when forward Arthur Sousa missed the near post by inches after Bell played the Brazilian in behind the backline and into the box.
