ARLINGTON, Texas (May 18, 2025) – Houston Dynamo 2 fell 2-1 on the road to North Texas SC at Choctaw Stadium earlier this evening, with the match concluding after three weather delays. Despite the loss, Dynamo Dos still holds the upper hand in the all-time series against the FC Dallas affiliate with a 5-3-3 (WLD) record.

Forward Jordy Burbano received a red card in second half stoppage time and will be suspended for Houston’s next match.

North Texas opened scoring in the 65th minute after Samuel Sarve found the back of the net from the penalty spot after defender Jayden Puna was deemed to have fouled Sarve inside the box.

Forward Stephen Annor leveled the match for Houston in the 74th minute with a right-footed finish from inside the box. The play saw Burbano send an overhead ball to Annor, who controlled it and found the back of the net for his second goal of the season.

North Texas then retook the lead in the 87th minute when Diego García found the bottom right corner from inside the box.

Goalkeeper Pedro Cruz was called into action in the first minute of the match when Sarve forced the Brazilian goalkeeper to dive low to his right and safely secure the forward’s shot. Cruz finished the night with four saves.

Attacker Joshua Bolma nearly broke the scoreless affair in the 26th minute when the 22-year-old received the ball inside the box and fired a shot towards the far post, but a North Texas defender managed to get in front of it.

Cruz was called into action again in the 45th minute, blocking a right-footed strike from Faisu Sangare inside the box.

Defender Michael Halliday found midfielder Noah Betancourt in the center of the box in the 59th minute for a header that sailed just over the crossbar.

Cruz delivered another stop in the 86th minute, making a diving save to his right to block away a shot by García.

Dynamo 2 hits the road again to face another in-state rival, Austin FC II, on Friday, May 30, at Parmer Field. Fans can follow the action live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
