Houston Dynamo 2 fall 3-1 to St. Louis CITY2 on the road

ST. LOUIS (May 4, 2025) – Houston Dynamo 2 fell 3-1 on the road to St. Louis CITY2 earlier this afternoon.

Midfielder Sebastian Rodriguez was Houston’s lone scorer today, leveling the match in the 48th minute after intercepting a pass in St. Louis’ midfield and finding the far post with a right-footed strike for his second goal of the season.

St. Louis opened scoring in the 14th minute when Emil Jääskeläinen found the bottom right corner from outside the box.

St. Louis retook the lead in the 51st minute when Brendan McSorley found the back of the net with a header following a cross from Emil Jääskeläinen. CITY2 then extended their lead in the 75th minute after Miguel Perez found space inside the box.

Forward Exon Arzú had Houston’s first dangerous effort in the first minute of the match with a direct free kick that nearly found the top left corner but instead hit the crossbar.

Attacker Joshua Bolma found forward Stephen Annor in the box in the 12th minute for a header that found the hands of St. Louis goalkeeper Christian Olivares.

Dynamo 2 had another dangerous chance in the 16th minute when Arzú forced a low diving save from Olivares with a right-footed strike towards the bottom left corner.

Annor fired a shot from the left side of the box in the 43rd minute that missed the far post by inches.

Midfielder Enrique Correa had a scoring opportunity of his own in the 53rd minute with a direct free kick that hit the woodwork for the second time in the match.

Goalkeeper Pedro Cruz, who was named the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month for April, was called into action in the 84th minute when the Brazilian keeper got low to safely secure a right-footed shot from Cameron Cilley.
