Houston Dynamo 2 fall on the road to LAFC2

LOS ANGELES (June 28, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 fell 3-1 on road to LAFC2 at

USC – Rawlinson Stadium earlier this evening. Midfielder Gustavo Dohmann scored

Houston’s lone goal of the match.

Both teams played with 10 men after LAFC2 defender Christian Diaz was sent off in the

35th minute for fouling defender Reese Miller with a high boot, and Houston’s forward

Myles Gardner received his second yellow card in the 49th minute.

Notably, the match saw forward Alan Martins and Dynamo Academy midfielder Dylan

Reyes make their first professional starts.

The Los Angeles team took the lead in the first minute of the match when Liam Lambert

found the bottom right corner of the net.

Dohmann leveled the match for Houston in the 45th minute with a left-footed finish into

the bottom right corner from the center of the box. The play began when attacker Samir

Mohammad freed himself from an LAFC2 defender on the right side of the box and

played a ball towards the back post. LAFC2’s backline headed the ball away, but it

landed at the feet of Dohmann to notch his first professional goal.LAFC2 retook the lead in the 68th minute after Luke Goodman found the back of the net

with a long-range shot. They then extended their lead in the 89th minute when DeCarlo

Guerra converted from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Logan Erb was deemed to

have fouled an LAFC2 player inside the box.

Striker Arthur Sousa had Houston’s first shot on target in the fifth minute with a right-

footed strike that found the hands of Ethan Scally at the near post.

Dynamo 2 almost got on the score sheet in the 15th minute when a corner delivery from

Mohammad found midfielder Noah Betancourt in the box for a header that missed the

far post by inches.

Erb was called into action in the 52nd minute, getting low to safety secure a left-footed

strike from Marius Aiyenero inside the box. The shot stopper finished the night with five

saves.

Erb delivered another key save in the 77th minute, diving to his right to deny an outside

the box shot from Aiyenero.

Houston returns to SaberCats Stadium for the first time since March 21 to face

MNUFC2 on Sunday, July 5 with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT. Fans can secure
