MLS NEXT Pro announced today that Houston Dynamo 2 forward Papa Ndoye earned MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchday 19 honors.

Ndoye is coming off his career first MLS NEXT Pro hat trick after the forward led Houston Dynamo 2 to a 5-3, comeback victory over Real Monarchs on Friday, July 28. Ndoye scored the first equalizer in the 20th minute of the match after Salt Lake jumped to the early lead. In the 61st minute of the match, Ndoye converted from the spot to tie the match up for a second time. The 24-year-old completed the hat trick in the 84th minute of the match and solidified Houston’s road win and series sweep over Real Monarchs.

With eight goals scored this season, Ndoye has surpassed his career high of five goals, which he tied in Houston’s 1-1 draw against Minesota United FC 2 on July 23 at SaberCats stadium. The Senegalese forward has made 13 starts in 16 appearances so far this season. Ndoye, who made his professional debut on March 26, 2022, is one of several Dynamo 2 players on the roster from last year’s inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season.

Dynamo Dos return to SaberCats Stadium to host Sporting KC II on Sunday, August 8 at 6:00 p.m. CT. The match will stream live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
