HOUSTON (May 11, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 was named the MLS NEXT Pro Team for Matchweek 10, the league announced today.

Dynamo 2 earned a 4-1 road victory over St. Louis CITY2 at Energizer Park on Saturday afternoon, with four different players finding the back of the net to retain their position atop the Western Conference standings.

Houston leveled the match in the 39th minute when forward Arthur Sousa dribbled up along the left side between defenders before squaring across the top of the box for a streaking Mattheo Dimareli, who shimmied to buy a foot of space to the left of the defender and chipped the CITY goalkeeper for his third goal of the year.

Dos then took the lead in the 62nd minute after a corner delivery from midfielder Diego Gonzalez found the head of midfielder Noah Betancourt, who put the ball past the St. Louis goalkeeper for his first goal of the season.

Forward Jahmani “JJ” Bell extended Houston’s advantage in 69th minute with a terrific individual effort, taking a through ball along the left side and speeding past multiple defenders before cutting inside to his right foot. Bell then fired the ball to the near post for his third goal of the season.

Striker Austin Brummett scored Houston’s fourth and final goal in second half stoppage time with a right-footed finish towards the far post, following a pass from Gonzalez. The play marked Brummett’s fourth goal of the season and Gonzalez’s second assist of the match.

Through nine matches under the leadership of April’s MLS NEXT Pro Coach of the Month Jeremy Hurdle, Houston leads the league clean sheets (five), assists (18) and fewest goals conceded in open play (three) this season. The team also ranks second in the league with goals scored (24).

Houston next travels to face Minnesota United FC 2 on Saturday, May 16, at National Sports Center Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live via MLSNEXTPro.com and OneFootball.
