HOUSTON (Feb. 5, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 signed young Brazilian forward Arthur Sousa on loan for the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season with an option to buy from Red Bull Bragantino in Brazil, both clubs announced today.

“We are thrilled to welcome Arthur to the Club this winter,” said Dynamo Assistant General Manager NickKowba. "Arthur is a high-potential attacking player with experience in Brazil's Serie A, and Dynamo 2 is an important step in his development pathway. Our second team plays a critical role in preparing players for the demands of MLS through regular integration with our first team, shared methodology and consistent competitive opportunities. We have a strong track record of developing and advancing top South American talent through Dynamo 2, and we are excited to support Arthur as he works towards earning a first team contract with Houston Dynamo FC."

Sousa kicked off his soccer journey in the SC Corinthians Paulista academy, progressing through the ranks to the club’s U-20 squad, where he made 36 appearances in all competitions for the age group. He stood out during the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-20 campaign, scoring eight goals in six matches and featuring in every game of Corinthians’ U-20 playoff run to the final.

That year also saw Sousa score four goals in a 5-1 victory over Atlético Clube Goianiense U-20 before making his professional debut with Corinthians’ first team in October 2022 versus Cuiabá Esporte Clube in Brazil’s top-flight Série A. He scored his first professional goal in a Campeonato Paulista tournament match against São Paulo Futebol Clube in January 2024 and earlier that month helped Corinthians U-20 win the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior title with four goals and one assist in eight matches.

The 22-year-old signed with Red Bull Bragantino in September 2024, making eight appearances for the first team before spending two loan spells during the 2025 season. Sousa first joined Sport Club do Recife in February, featuring seven times for the club across all competitions, and later joined América Mineiro in June, where he scored two goals in 19 Série B matches.

At international level, Sousa has represented Brazil’s U-20 side, appearing in friendlies versus Argentina and Uruguay.
