Dos have six regular season matches remaining in their push for the playoffs, including four at home and two on the road.

Dynamo Dos currently sit ninth in the Western Conference with three points below the playoff line and a 7-10-5 (WLD) record.

Houston is coming off a commanding 3-1 road victory over Sporting Kansas City II at Children’s Mercy Victory Field last Sunday. Midfielder Mattheo Dimareli opened the scoring in the 12th minute, finding the lower right corner for his third goal of the season. Just before halftime, midfielder Lionel Gitau doubled Houston’s lead with a tap-in at the back post for his first professional goal. Defender Juan Viveros sealed the victory in the 52nd minute, volleying home his second goal of the season into the bottom right corner.

Notably, forward David Garcia has been called up to the Venezuela U-17 National Team for a series of international friendlies, beginning with two matches versus Honduras on Aug. 22 and Aug. 25, and followed by matches against Panama on Aug. 29 and Aug. 31. Garcia signed with Dynamo 2 this year, becoming the seventh Dynamo Academy player to sign a professional contract with Dos. The 17-year-old has earned 25 caps at the youth international level, including six appearances at the 2025 CONMEBOL Sudamericano Sub-17, where he helped the team reach the semifinals in April.

The Town enters this weekend’s match third in the Western Conference with 39 points and an 11-4-4 (WLD) record. They are coming off a 4-1 home victory over Ventura County FC on Aug. 15. Nonso Adimabua opened the scoring in the 20th minute, which was then followed by goals from Paul Marie in the 26th minute, Missael Rodriguez in the 42nd and Niko Tsakiris in the 72nd. Adimabua leads the team’s attack with nine goals and five assists.

Friday’s fixture will feature a rematch of last season’s opening round of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs, where Houston narrowly fell 2-1 in a closely contested match to see their season come to an end. Despite the result, Dimareli pulled Dos level with an equalizer in the 41st minute for his first postseason goal.

Houston will take on The Town for the seventh time in their all-time series, with Dynamo 2 defeating the Northern California side in penalties in their first ever meeting in 2022 and on the road last season in penalties as well. The road match featured a long-distance equalizer from midfielder Diego Gonzalez in the dying minutes of the second half.

Dynamo 2 next host St. Louis CITY2 on Sunday, Aug. 31, at SaberCats Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. Fans can claim their free tickets to the match HERE.
