Houston Dynamo 2 signed defender Isaiah LeFlore to an MLS NEXT Pro Professional Contract, the team announced today. The 19-year-old outside back comes to Dynamo 2 from Sporting Clube de Braga B in Portugal’s Liga Portugal 2.

“We are excited to add a talented versatile young player such as Isaiah,” Houston Dynamo FC assistant general manager and director of soccer operations Nick Kowba said. “Dynamo 2 provides more professional opportunities for talented young players in Houston and around the country and assists the club in our relentless pursuit of excellence. Bringing in players that create competition for playing time throughout the organization is fundamental in achieving that goal and we believe that Isaiah can be a key contributor to the organization for the duration of the 2022 season and beyond.”

LeFlore signed with Braga in January, marking his second stint in Portugal. He previously spent three seasons playing for Portuguese side Associação Desportiva de Oeiras from 2016-2019.

The Minneapolis native returned to American soccer ahead of the 2020 season, signing with Sporting Kansas City II, where he played for current Houston Dynamo FC head coach Paulo Nagamura. LeFlore made 26 appearances over two seasons for SKC II, scoring once and assisting on a pair of goals. In September 2021, LeFlore earned USL Championship Team of the Week honors for his performance against OKC Energy FC.

LeFlore began his youth career at Shattuck-St. Mary's in Minneapolis, the same school as Dynamo 2 goalkeeper Xavier Valdez. He has also represented the United States at the U-15 level.
