Houston Dynamo 2 to host Portland Timbers2 in Western Conference clash

HOUSTON (March 15, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 host Portland Timbers2 on Sunday, March 15, at SaberCats Stadium, marking the third match of a four-game homestand to start their 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT, and fans can claim free tickets to every Dynamo Dos home match via Tixr.

Notably, Dynamo 2 enter Sunday’s fixture on a two-game winning streak, scoring six goals while recording back-to-back clean sheets. The team currently sits second in the Western Conference swith six points and a 2-0-0 (WLD) record.

Houston secured a dominant 4-0 home victory over the Tacoma Defiance on March 8, highlighted by a first career MLS NEXT Pro brace from Dynamo Academy midfielder Mattheo Dimareli, whose performance earned him MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchday 2 honors.

Young defender Gavin Wolff tripled Dos’ lead in the 77th minute with his first professional goal, before forward Austin Brummett netted Houston’s final goal of the night in the 82nd minute, also marking his first professional goal. The result marked Dynamo 2’s second clean sheet of the season after holding Tacoma to just one shot on target from eight total attempts. Additionally, Tacoma failed to register a shot in the first half, while Dos recorded eight.

The victory also featured two first-team players in the starting lineup, including forward Nick Markanich, who made his Dynamo 2 debut and finished the night with two assists, and goalkeeper Blake Gillingham. Defender Agustin Resch, defender Vinicius Rodrigues da Silva and attacker Tomáš Wiesner also made their Dynamo 2 debuts, while Brummett made his first start for the squad.

Timbers2 opened their season with five points through two matches, earning a 2-1 home victory over San Jose Earthquakes II in their season opener before securing two points on March 8, defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 in a penalty shootout following a scoreless draw in regulation at Providence Park. The team currently sits fifth in the Western Conference table with a 1-0-1 (WLD) record.
