HOUSTON (August 1, 2025) – Houston Dynamo 2 close a two-match road stretch on Saturday, Aug. 2, traveling to face Minnesota United FC 2 at National Sports Center Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT. This marks the third and final meeting between the two sides this regular season, and Dynamo 2 fans can stream the action live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Dynamo Dos has the upper hand in the all-time series against Minnesota, with six wins, two draws and two losses. In 2024, Houston took all three games, winning two at home and one on the road. Notably, Dynamo 2 scored three or more goals in each of their three matchups against MNUFC2 last season, including a 4-1 home victory on August 21 and a 3-1 home victory the week after. Forward Gabe Segal played a key role in both games, scoring three goals in the two matches.
One lineup note for this weekend is that midfielder Sebastian Rodriguez will miss Saturday's match for yellow card accumulation.
Houston currently sits ninth in the Western Conference with 25 points and a 6-9-4 (WLD) record.
Notably, the Club recently had two players represent Houston at MLS All-Star Week in Austin, Texas last week. Dynamo Academy product Daniel Barrett played 45 minutes and wore the captain armband for the West in the MLS NEXT All-Star Game, presented by Allstate at Parmer Field on July 21, while goalkeeper Pedro Cruz earned the 2025 Goalie Wars title on July 22 during the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, presented by AT&T, at Q2 Stadium.
Dos closed out July with a 2-0 road defeat to in-state rivals Austin FC II in a Texas Showdown at Parmer Field. Despite the result, the match saw midfielder Matthew Arana make his professional debut in the 74th minute. At just 14 years, 10 months and 28 days old, Arana became the second-youngest player to debut for Dynamo Dos this season.
MNUFC2 enters Saturday’s match with a 1-3-1 (WLD) record over their last five games, having ended July with a 4-0 road loss to St. Louis CITY2. They currently sit 10th in the Western Conference with 24 points and a 7-8-3 (WLD) record. Luke Hille leads the team’s attack with seven goals this season.
Both sides have faced each other twice this year already, with Dos falling 3-1 at Shell Energy Stadium on March 30 and 4-1 on the road on June 12.
