HOUSTON (July 11, 2026)Houston Dynamo 2

earned a 2-1 victory versus St. Louis CITY2 at SaberCats Stadium on Saturday evening, extending their unbeaten home streak to six matches.

Notably, today’s game saw Dynamo Academy player Jaizhino Perez make his professional debut after coming on as a substitute in the 79th minute.

Dynamo 2 took the lead in the 13th minute following a stunning finish from defender Reese Miller. A St. Louis error allowed the Homegrown player to retrieve the ball at the top of the box, where he fired a right-footed shot into the top corner for his third goal of the season. Miller has now scored in back-to-back matches, following his goal versus Minnesota United FC 2 on July 5.

Forward Arthur Sousa extended Houston’s lead in the 69th minute after coming on as a substitute just a minute earlier. Striker Austin Brummett picked the pocket of a CITY2 defender near midfield, dribbled towards the box and laid the ball off for the Brazilian attacker, who finished into the bottom left corner for his third goal of the season. The play marked Brummett’s first assist of the year.

St. Louis pulled one back in the 86th minute when Riley Lynch found Lorenzo Cornelius inside the box for a header.

Houston’s first dangerous chance came in the sixth minute when a corner delivery from attacker Samir Mohammad found Brummett for a powerful header that sailed over the crossbar.

Goalkeeper Logan Erb was called into action in the 17th minute, reacting quickly and diving to his left to deny a close range shot from Chidube Nwankwo. The shot stopper finished the match with two saves.

Dos came close to finding the back of the net in the 36th minute after Brummett faked out a defender, dribbled to his left and sent a cross that was deflected by a CITY2 defender to midfielder Noah Betancourt, whose header missed the far post by inches.

Midfielder Gustavo Dohmann almost got his name on the scoring sheet in the 45th minute when the Brazilian chested down a pass from Dynamo Academy midfielder Dylan Reyes inside the box and fired a left-footed shot that was blocked by Colin Welsh.

Houston next host Colorado Rapids 2 on Saturday, July 18, at SaberCats Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT. Fans can claim their free ticket for the match HERE.
