Dynamo Academy midfielder Christian Lucatero named U.S. Development Academy Player of the Week

Despite a 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids Academy on Saturday, Dynamo Academy U-18 midfielder Christian Lucatero was named U.S. Soccer Development Academy Player of the Week on Monday.

From the U.S. Soccer release:

"Academy Player of the Week: Christian Lucatero of the Houston Dynamo U-18s received high scout ratings for his performance during the team’s match against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. Lucatero leads the Frontier Division-leading Dynamo with seven goals in 12 games."

The 2-0 defeat was the first defeat for the U-18s since Nov. 15 and ended a five-game winning streak. The U-18s (10-2-1; 31 points) still lead the Frontier Division of the Central Conference by seven points over Texas Rush. Lucatero scored four goals two weekends ago in a two-game sweep of Sporting Kansas City, including a hat trick after entering the game at halftime.
