Three Houston Dash players named to Canadian Women’s National Team Roster for Algarve Cup

Houston Dash defenders Lindsay AgnewAllysha Chapman and forward Nichelle Prince were named to the Canadian Women’s National Team for the Algarve Cup, the Canadian Soccer Association announced earlier today. 


Canada prepare for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup after finishing second in the 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship.


The Dash trio enter their second national team camp of the year. Chapman and Prince featured in Canada’s 1-0 victory over Norway in January, their first friendly of the year, while Agnew trained with the team for the first camp of 2019.


Prince scored a goal and tallied two assists in 20 appearances for the Houston last season. The forward was also a nominee for the 2018 CONCACAF Best XI – Forward.  


Agnew joined the Dash during the 2018 offseason via a trade with the Washington Spirit and the defender tallied an assist in 12 appearances for the club.  


Chapman joined the Dash for her second stint with the club on May 9, 2018 via a trade with the North Carolina Courage and started in 15 games for Houston as the team finished with a 9-10-5 record.
