The NWSL Draft is this Thursday, January 18 and new Dash Head Coach Vera Pauw and new assistant coach Lisa Cole are busy preparing to make this year’s selections. In case you missed it earlier today, the Dash have acquired forward Lindsay Agnew and the sixth overall selection from the Washington Spirit in a trade for the third overall pick in this year’s draft.

The NWSL College Draft has historically proven successful for the Dash. Most recently, breakout goalkeeper Jane Campbell and Canadian Women’s National Team regular Nichelle Prince joined the team during the 2017 draft. As this year’s draft draws closer, assistant coach Lisa Cole gives insight on what the technical staff is looking for this year.

“We know that we need some depth and some options in the holding mid, outside back; we would like to get some depth or options at the center back position,” Cole said. “What we are going to be looking for are certain role players that are going to come in and try to find their place within the team.”

Be sure to tune in on Thursday at 9 a.m. CT on Facebook.com/NWSL, youtube.com/NWSLsoccer, NWSLsoccer.com/collegedraft or on the NWSL app (iPhone | Android) to see who the Dash select.
