Houston Dynamo forward Alberth Elis has been named to the 2017 CONCACAF Best XI, the organization announced today. Voting for CONCACAF awards is equally distributed between Member Association women’s and men’s national team coaches/captains, media and fans.

Elis, 21, joined the Dynamo on loan from Mexico's C.F. Monterrey and had a breakout season, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 26 regular season games played (18 starts). He also scored the winning the winning goal in extra time of the Dynamo's Knockout Round win over Sporting Kansas City in the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs. Elis is one of three MLS players to be named to the team.

With Honduras, Elis scored three goals in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches this year. The Dynamo announced earlier this month that Elis would be joining the Dynamo on a permanent basis after they exercised his purchase option with Monterrey.
