TUKWILA, Wash. (June 17, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 fell 2-1 on the road to Tacoma Defiance earlier this evening. Defender Vinicius Silva scored Houston’s lone goal of the match with a blast from 40 yards out. Notably, Silva has scored in back-to-back matches, following his goal versus Ventura County FC on June 6.

The match saw goalkeeper Logan Erb and forward David Garcia make their 2026 season debuts, while midfielder D’Alessandro Herrera made his first start of this campaign. Additionally, Dynamo Academy midfielder Dylan Reyes made his professional debut tonight after coming on as a substitute in the 87th minute.

Dynamo 2 opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after Silva blasted a left-footed shot from 40 yards out into the bottom right corner for his third goal of the season. The goal was assisted by defender Isaac Mwakutuya, who marked his second of the year.

Tacoma leveled the match in the 47th minute when Charlie Gaffney found Mark Bronnik in the box for a header towards the bottom left corner. The Seattle affiliate team then took the lead two minutes later after Edson Carli scored a free kick from 25 yards out.

Houston had their first dangerous chance in the 21st minute when Jahmani “JJ” Bell fired a right-footed shot from the right side of the box that sailed over the crossbar.

Forward Myles Gardner tried his luck from outside the box in the 41st minute with a right-footed strike that missed the far post by inches.

Erb was called into action in the 60th minute after quickly coming off his line to deny Carli in a one-on-one situation. The shot stopper finished the night with two saves.

Striker Austin Brummett fired a low-driven shot from distance in the 67th minute, forcing Tacoma’s goalkeeper Max Anchor into a diving save to his left.

Erb delivered another key save in the 76th minute, making a quick reaction stop to deny a close range shot from Carli.

Dos came close to leveling the match in the third minute of second half stoppage time, with Brummett hitting the crossbar with a powerful header inside the box.

Houston next travels to face LAFC2 on Sunday, June 28 with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live via MLSNEXTPro.com and OneFootball.
