HOUSTON (Aug. 7, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 were named the MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Month for July, the league announced today.
The selections marks the second Team of the Month honor for Dos this season, with the first honor coming in April. It also brings the Club's total monthly awards to six this year, with goalkeeper Pedro Cruz earning Goalkeeper of the Month and head coach Jeremy Hurdle earning and Coach of the Month recognitions (March and April).
Dynamo 2 finished July with 11 points and a 3-1-1 (WLD) record, including a three-match winning streak to kick off the month. The team also extended their unbeaten home streak tostart the season during July, which now stands at eight matches, the longest unbeaten home streak in team history.
“This recognition is another direct reflection of the consistent commitment and dedication our players and staff bring to their roles each day,” said Hurdle. “I am proud of how the team has continued to evolve and thrive through the challenges of the season so far."
Houston currently sits third in the Western Conference with 42 points and a 12-4-3 (WLD) record, scoring the fourth most goals (42) and allowing the second fewest goals (19) across the league this season.
The team opened the month with a dominant 4-0 victory versus Minnesota United FC 2 on July 8, earning them MLS NEXT Pro Team honors for Matchweek 18, before securing a 2-1 win against St. Louis CITY2. Houston then held on for a 2-1 victory over Colorado Rapids 2 on July 18, despite playing with 10 men for the entire second half, and defeated Austin FC IIin a penalty shootout after playing them to a 1-1 draw on July 26. Dynamo 2 closed the month with just their fourth defeat of the season, falling 3-2 at Sporting Kansas City II on July 31.
