HOUSTON (March 7, 2026) – Houston Dynamo 2 continue their four-match homestand to start their 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season on Sunday, March 8, hosting Tacoma Defiance at SaberCats Stadium. The fixture is set to kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT, and fans can claim free tickets to every Dynamo Dos home match via Tixr.
Dynamo 2 opened their fifth MLSNP campaign under the direction of interim head coach Jeremy Hurdle last Sunday, earning a 2-0 home victory versus Colorado Rapids 2. **2025 Goalie Wars** winner Pedro Cruz managed two saves to help Houston post a clean sheet in their first contest of the season, while Dynamo Academy product Samir Mohammad notched his first professional goal and midfielder D’Alessandro Herrerascored his first goal of the season.
The win also featured several Dynamo 2 debuts, including forward **Austin** **Brummett**, midfielder **GustavoDohmann**, midfielder **Gilberto** **Rivera** and forward **Arthur** **Sousa**, all of whom were signed this offseason. Additionally, Mohammad made his first professional start in the midfield.
Tacoma opened the season with one point after drawing 2-2 versus LAFC2 and falling 4-1 in the penalty shootout. The two goals in regulation were scored by Yu Tsukanome and Mark Bronnik. The team currently sits ninth in the Western Conference.
Notably, two potential Dynamo 2 players made their first team debuts last Saturday. Midfielder Matthew Aranabecame the youngest player in Dynamo history to earn first team minutes when he entered the match in the 88th minute. The 15-year-old recently signed a Homegrown contract, becoming the 20th Dynamo Academy product to sign a Homegrown first team contract. Rookie Dynamo 2 defender Agustin Resch, who was signed to a short-term loan for tonight’s match, made his debut to start the second half. The towering Argentinian defender was selected by the Dynamo in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft out of Seton Hall University and recently signed with Dos.
Dos next host Portland Timbers2 on Sunday, March 15, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT at SaberCats Stadium.
