HOUSTON (Sept. 29, 2026) - U.S. Soccer announced today that Houston Dash defender Avery Pattersonwas named to the U.S. Women’s National Team roster for a pair of international friendlies against Spain in October.
The United States will face the reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup champions in two consecutive matches during the upcoming international window. The first match is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday, October 10 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. The teams will meet again at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, October 13 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pa. Both matches will air live in English on HBO Max and in Spanish on Universo and Peacock. Full broadcast details for each match are available HERE.
Patterson has established herself as a regular contributor with the U.S. Women’s National Team since making her senior team debut against Brazil on April 5, 2025. The 24-year-old has made 14 appearances for the USWNT, scoring her first international goal on June 27, 2025, in a 4-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland. She has also recorded two assists during her time with the national team.
The defender has played a key role for the Dash this season, starting all 24 matches and helping Houston record five clean sheets. She has contributed three assists this season, setting up goals in victories over Bay FC, North Carolina and Chicago Stars FC. She also leads the team in recoveries (133) and interceptions (38).
Patterson will depart for camp following Houston’s home match at Shell Energy Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 4 as the team faces the Washington Spirt for Pups at the Pitch presented by College Ave. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. CT and tickets for the match are available HERE.
