he Houston Dash extended their unbeaten run to four games under interim head coach Juan Carlos Amorós with a 0-0 draw at home this evening against Racing Louisville FC. Today’s result gives Houston a share of the second-best record in the league with a 7-4-4 mark.

Additionally, the club recognized England international Rachel Daly at halftime of today’s match. The former Dash captain was transferred to Aston Villa earlier this week. Daly spent seven years with the club and leaves as the all-time leader in goals with 42 in all competitions.

The Dash posted their fifth clean sheet of the season tonight and Dash goalkeeper Jane Campbell faced no shots on target. Captain Katie Naughton and the Dash backline limited Louisville to three shots this evening, with all three coming in the second half. Louisville was forced to play compact after they lost defender Satara Murray in the 42nd minute due to an ejection for multiple tactical fouls. Her second yellow card of the match came after she prevented Dash forward Nichelle Prince from dribbling into the box in the 42nd minute.

Houston knocked on the opposing goal early as Dash forward Maria Sanchez found midfielder Shea Groom inside the box in the third minute. Groom made contact with the ball but her effort floated into the hands of Louisville’s Katie Lund.

The Dash generated three shots on goal in the opening 15 minutes of the match and tallied 11 entries into the final third. Houston opened the second half by bombarding the Louisville goalkeeper who ultimately finished with an additional six saves in the second half.

Dash forward Ebony Salmon faced her former team for the first time since she was traded to Houston at the end of June. Salmon finished with one big chance and two shots on goal tonight.

Houston’s final threat of the evening came in the 81st minute after Prince forced a save at the near post. The Canadian international created two chances tonight and finished with one shot on target.

The Dash close the two-game home stand when they host NJ/NY Gotham FC on Wednesday, Aug, 17. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. CT and will air on CBS Sports Network.
