Salmon is the first player in club history to earn Best XI honors in consecutive months. The 21-year-old forward from England scored four goals in the five games the Dash played throughout the month. During the month of August, the young striker scored her career high seventh NWSL goal in Houston’s 2-1 win over Gotham on Aug. 17. Three days later Salmon added her eighth goal of the regular season on the road against San Diego.

In July, Salmon was named the NWSL’s player of the month following a breakout July which featured her career first hat trick against Chicago Red Stars at home.

The England native’s breakout performance earned her a call up with the Lionesses for their September national team camp – the first since England won the 2022 Women’s Euro Tournament. Salmon was available off the bench for England in the matches against Austria and Luxembourg.

Salmon will rejoin the Dash later this week as the team prepares to return to league play on Sept. 11. Houston will host Angel City FC at PNC Stadium with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m.. Houston currently sits in second place in the NWSL standings with four regular-season games remaining. Tickets are available here.
