Houston Dash sign four National Team Replacement Players

The Houston Dash signed midfielder Meagan Rosa, midfielder Kayla Hamric, midfielder Haley Berg, and defender Machaela George as National Team Replacement Players, the club announced today.  

The quartet will join Houston for the summer as seven Dash players report for international duty in their respective home nations for international tournaments that include qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.  

Rosa returns to Houston for her second stint with the team. Rosa joined the Dash in January 2020 and appeared in eight matches for Houston. Rosa also helped the Dash capture the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup title in Utah.  

Hamric played collegiately at George Mason University where she made 66 career appearances for the Patriots. Hamric also scored eight goals during her collegiate career.  

Berg joins the Dash after spending 2021 with Zaragoza CFF in Spain after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, last spring. Berg appeared in 30 matches for the second division Spanish club. While in Austin, Berg made 73 career appearances for the Longhorns and was a three-time All-Big 12 Conference selection.  

George returns to the NWSL after playing in Demark and Portugal. George made her NWSL debut with OL Reign in May 2021. The defender played collegiately at Santa Clara University where she made 88 career appearances in four seasons for the Broncos.
