The Houston Dash and goalkeeper Devon Kerr have agreed to a one-year contract through the 2023 season, the team announced today.

"We are excited to welcome Devon back to Houston,” Dash general manager Alex Singer said. “She began her career with the Dash, and we are happy that she is choosing to continue her career with our club. We look forward to having Devon work with our coaching staff and players as we prepare for the 2023 season.”

The goalkeeper joined the Washington Spirit ahead of the 2020 regular season. Kerr finished with three regular season appearances in goal and made her professional debut in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup in Washington’s match against the Orlando Pride on April 3. Kerr made her regular season debut against San Diego Wave FC, where she made two saves in a 2-1 loss on the road. Kerr earned her first career clean sheet against Orlando in a 0-0 draw at home July 17.

Kerr returns to the Dash after previously being with the team for the 2019 season. The goalkeeper joined the Dash as a non-rostered invitee during the 2019 preseason and was signed to the roster in April of the same year.

“It was always my dream to play soccer at the professional level,” Kerr said. “Having the opportunity to re-sign with the club in the city I started this professional journey is another dream come true. It is incredibly special to me.”

Kerr played collegiately at The Ohio State University where she made 63 appearances in goal for the Buckeyes and finished with 19 career shutouts. She was named the Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year in her senior campaign and was a First Team All-Big Ten selection.

Kerr was called into the Canadian Women’s National Team for the first time at the beginning of 2022 as the reigning Olympic Champions prepared for the 2022 Arnold Clark Cup.

With the addition of Kerr, Houston now has 20 players under contract. The current Houston Dash roster can be found listed below in alphabetical order and by position:
