HOUSTON (Aug. 17, 2026) - The Houston Dash transferred midfielder Emina Ekić to Italian club Parma Calcio 1913 for an undisclosed transfer fee, both teams announced today.

Ekić joined the Dash in April following a transfer from Lexington SC in the Gainbridge Super League. The midfielder appeared in five matches for Houston since her club debut on May 6 against the Utah Royals FC.

The Louisville, Kentucky native signed with Houston after one season with Lexington SC, where she scored two goals and tallied four assists. Prior to joining Lexington, Ekić earned Super League Player of the Year honors with Spokane Zephyr FC in the league's inaugural season after leading the club with 10 goals and six assists.

Ekić began her professional career after being selected fifth overall by Racing Louisville FC in the 2021 NWSL Draft. She made her NWSL debut on April 10, 2021, and helped the club earn its first-ever victory later that season, scoring the first regular-season goal in club history.

At the international level, Ekić represents Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since making her senior debut in 2023, she has featured in UEFA Nations League and FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying matches. She scored three goals during the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying campaign earlier this year, including a brace on March 7 before adding another goal against Liechtenstein on April 18.
