Kim Cook has been a Dash supporter since the team first began play in 2014. Cook, who has lived in the Houston area since 2012 was excited to support the first and only professional women’s soccer team in the state.

Cook first fell in love with the sport of soccer when she was seven years old. Being able to support the growth of soccer in the United States and in particular women’s soccer, is something that Cook says is “extremely fulfilling. It’s like being a part of history from the stands.”

For Cook being a part of the Dash community is what led her to become a Dash365 Season Ticket Member.

“When you walk into the stadium you can definitely feel the excitement in the air,” Cook said.  “We enjoy cheering on our team with everyone, even though we’re strangers because in that moment, we’re all Dash fans together.”

This Saturday, Cook and several other fans in attendance will be able to bring very special guests to the match to help support the Dash as they return to NWSL regular season play against the Washington Spirit.

Emmitt and Hank are Cook’s two dogs who will be in attendance for Saturday’s Pups at the Pitch night, presented by Nationwide Insurance. On every game day, Cook says she makes sure to have them wear a themed bandana.

“They must wear a bandana on game day. It gets spooky if we forget,” Cook said. “We can’t have bad juju on game day.”

One of Cook’s favorite things about having pets in her family is the loyalty and love the four-legged friends provide.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve been gone for five minutes or three hours, every time you walk back through the door, they run up like seeing you is the best part of their day and they’ve missed you,” Cook said.

If Emmitt and Hank could talk on Saturday, Cook said they would probably say “Dash match? Are all these people my new friends?”
