HOUSTON (Sep. 25, 2026) - The Houston Dash will close their two-game road trip on Saturday, Sept. 26 when they face Portland Thorns FC at 7:45 p.m. CT at Providence Park. The Dash enter Saturday’s matchup following a 2-1 victory over Boston Legacy FC last Sunday, earning three points in Jaime Frias’ first match as interim head coach. Houston snapped a four-game winless streak with the victory, with midfielder Danny Colaprico opening the scoring in the 44th minute before forward Messiah Bright scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute. Goalkeeper and captain Jane Campbell made 10 saves in the victory.
Houston will look to carry the momentum from Sunday’s victory into its second match of the road trip as the Dash continue their push for a higher spot in the league table. Houston enters the weekend with an 8-12-5 record and 29 points, with five regular season matches remaining following Saturday’s contest.
Campbell has continued to anchor the Dash defensively throughout the season and reached another milestone against Boston, recording her 100th regular-season save of the year in the 90th minute. It marked the second time in her career she has reached 100 saves in a single season.
The Dash will also look to forward Kat Rader as she continues her strong rookie campaign. The Duke University product leads all NWSL rookies with nine goals this season and has recorded 29 shots on target. Rader is three goals away from setting the league record for goals by a rookie in a single season, while also needing three goals to establish a new single-season scoring record for the Dash.
Houston will also welcome midfielder Linda Ullmark back to the team following her participation with the United States at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland. Ullmark, who started all four matches for the U.S. and recorded one goal and two assists during the tournament, will be available for selection ahead of Saturday’s match. Additionally, forward Amanda West also returned to the team following her loan with FC Rosengård earlier this week and was placed on the season-ending injury list due to a knee injury.
The Portland Thorns will look to end a two-match home winless run after falling 2-1 to the Washington Spirit on Sept. 6 and drawing 1-1 with Chicago Stars FC on Sept. 13. Portland enter Saturday’s match at 12-7-6 and 42 points following a 4-1 road victory over the Orlando Pride on Sept. 19. The Thorns snapped a three-game winless streak with the victory and scored four goals against Orlando, with Sophia Wilson recording a goal and two assists.
Wilson remains the Thorns’ leading scorer with 13 goals this season and is one goal away from matching the club record of 14 goals, which she set in 2022. Wilson also reached 100 regular-season appearances against Orlando and became the sixth player in Thorns history to reach the milestone.
Morgan Weaver also scored her first goal of the season against Orlando, marking her first goal since November 2024. Renee Lyles added a fourth goal in the 88th minute, while Nina Nijstad scored her first NWSL goal in the third minute.
Saturday’s match will be the first of two meetings between the two teams this year. Houston and Portland will meet again on Nov. 1 at Shell Energy Stadium to close the regular season on NWSL Decision Day.
