HOUSTON (Sep. 19, 2026) - The Houston Dash open a two-game road trip on Sunday, Sept. 20 as they face Boston Legacy FC at 1 p.m. CT at Centreville Bank Stadium. This match will be the first for interim head coach Jaime Frias. The Houston native brings more than two decades of coaching experience at the collegiate and international levels and has played an important role in the development of the Dash’s squad since joining the club.
The Dash will look to snap a four-game winless streak on Sunday as they return to action for the first time since the club announced the departure of head coach Fabrice Gautrat and technical director Twila Kilgore last weekend. Gautrat led the Dash to a 15-24-13 (W-L-D) record since joining the team in 2025.
Houston most recently fell 1-0 to Utah Royals FC at Shell Energy Stadium on Sept. 12 and enter Sunday's match in need of points to climb the league table. The team will look to return to the form that saw the team collect seven points across a four-match stretch in August. The team will face four teams currently above them in the league table in their final six games.

Houston remains in contention for a postseason berth and enters the match tied with Boston in the NWSL standings, with both teams entering the weekend on 26 points. The Dash currently hold a 7-12-5 record, while Boston enters the match with an identical 7-12-5 mark. With six regular season matches remaining, Sunday’s matchup provides an opportunity for Houston to gain ground and strengthen its position during the final weeks of the campaign.
The Dash and Legacy have already met once this season, with Houston earning a 3-0 victory in the club’s March 21 home opener. Kiki Van Zanten scored twice in the opening 45 minutes before Kat Rader added a third goal in the second half, helping Houston secure its first home-opening victory since 2017.
Rader has played a key role for Houston's offense this season and she leads the team with nine goals scored this season. The Duke University alum leads all rookies in goals scored this year and needs to score three more goals to set the record for most goals scored by a rookie in a single season. Rader would also set a new mark for goals scored by a Houston Dash player in a single season and she would be the third Dash player (Kealia Watt, Rachel Daly) to score more than 10 goals in a single year.
Boston enters Sunday's game with momentum after a 3-0 victory last weekend over the Washington Spirit. The Legacy have now scored in 12 consecutive games and they are the first team in league history to score in 12 consecutive games in their inaugural season. Two of Boston's goals against the Spirit were scored by Amanda Gutierres, who scored a brace after entering the match in the 84th minute.
The Dash close this two-game road trip on Saturday, Sept. 26 against Portland Thorns FC. The team returns to Shell Energy Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 4 to host the Washington Spirit for the second Pups at the Pitch match this season. Tickets for the match are available HERE
