HOUSTON (Aug. 29, 2026) - The Houston Dash travel to the Pacific Northwest to face the Seattle Reign FC at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, Aug. 30 at Lumen Field. The Dash enter Sunday’s matchup following a three-match stretch that saw Houston earn six points from victories over the North Carolina Courage and Chicago Stars FC before falling 1-0 to Bay FC on Sunday. Despite the result in San Jose, Houston created numerous opportunities and forced 10 saves from Bay goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz, continuing an attacking stretch that has seen the Dash score eight goals across their previous three matches.
Houston’s attack has been led by its young core throughout the season with players aged 24 or younger accounting for 23 of the team’s 28 goals. Rookie forward Kat Rader continues to pace the group after scoring her first professional brace against Chicago to bring her season total to nine goals, two shy of matching the NWSL rookie record of 11 set by Diana Ordóñez in 2022.
The Dash have also received key contributions from veteran and international players. Canadian international Clarissa Larisey scored twice off the bench in Houston’s 3-2 comeback victory over North Carolina, while Lisa Boattin recorded an assist against the Courage before scoring her first NWSL goal against Chicago. Miljana Ivanović added two assists against Chicago and created three chances after entering as a second-half substitute against Bay FC.
Houston will also be represented at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, as midfielder Linda Ullmark prepares to join the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team following Sunday’s match. Ullmark has earned seven U-20 caps and scored six goals for the United States and will be joined in Poland by three Seattle Reign FC players: goalkeeper Evan O’Steen and midfielders Ainsley McCammon and Emeri Adames. The tournament runs from Sept. 5-27 in Poland, with the United States opening group play against Italy on Sept. 6.
Defensively, Houston continues to build momentum behind goalkeeper Jane Campbell, who recorded six saves in Sunday’s match against Bay FC. The Dash held Bay scoreless until the 89th minute and limited the California club to a late breakthrough. Across the back line, Leah Klenke leads the team with 106 clearances, while Avery Patterson leads Houston with 55 tackles. Defender Malia Berkely will not be with the team in Seattle this weekend as she begins her maternity leave. Berkely appeared in 17 matches for the Dash this season. She joined the club last year following a trade with the North Carolina Courage on Sept. 12.
Seattle Reign FC enters Sunday’s matchup sitting eighth in the NWSL with 28 points after earning a 1-1 draw against the Kansas City Current on Aug. 22. The Reign opened the scoring in the 11th minute when a Sofia Huerta corner kick led to an Ainsley McCammon header that was ultimately deflected into the Kansas City goal. The Current equalized from the penalty spot early in the second half as the two teams split the points.
Seattle’s attack is led by Maddie Mercado, who leads the team with seven goals this season. Mia Fisher has added three goals, while Maddie Dahlien has contributed two goals and two assists. Huerta has also provided an attacking presence from the back with one goal and three assists.
The Reign’s defense was tested throughout the match against Kansas City, with goalkeeper Claudia Dickey making several key saves to preserve Seattle’s first-half lead. Jordyn Bugg led the team with five interceptions and added five clearances and three tackles.
The Dash are unbeaten in their last three regular-season meetings with Seattle (W1, D2), their first such unbeaten run against the Reign. Houston has also avoided defeat in five of its last six regular-season meetings with Seattle (W2, D3) after doing so just five times across the first 22 meetings between the clubs (W3, D2).
Houston and Seattle previously met on May 1 at Shell Energy Stadium, playing to a scoreless draw. Campbell made five saves to earn her third clean sheet of the season, while Claudia Dickey also kept Houston off the scoresheet. The Dash created several opportunities, including a late effort from Patterson that struck the woodwork, but neither side found a breakthrough.
The Dash travel to Orlando to close a three-match road stretch on Sunday, Sept. 6 against the Orlando Pride. Fans can follow the action live on NWSL + starting at 6 p.m. CT.
