SEATTLE (Aug. 30, 2026) – The Houston Dash fell 1-0 to Seattle Reign FC at Lumen Field this evening after Seattle forward Maddie Dahlien capitalized on a loose ball in the second half. Goalkeeper Jane Campbell made four saves for Houston, including three stops on Dahlien.
Seattle took the lead in the 52nd minute following a cross from Maddie Mercado towards the back post. Dahlien capitalized on a loose ball for her third goal of the season.
Campbell made her first save of the afternoon in the 22nd minute after she denied Dahlien at the far post. Defender Leah Klenke was well positioned to clear the ball and quell the danger. Klenke made her 21st start of the season and the Houston native leads first-year players in the NWSL in minutes with 1,908.
Houston’s first shot of the match came in the 29th minute off the right foot of forward Kat Rader, but her effort was off target.
The Dash created another opportunity in first-half stoppage time where forward Kate Faasse fired a right-footed effort from inside the box, but her attempt was off target.
Rader generated Houston’s first opportunity of the second half and she forced a save in the 50th minute. Rader currently leads all rookies with nine goals scored this season and the Duke University alum leads the team with 32 chances created.
Campbell was called into action again in the 55th minute to deny Dahlien at the near post. The Dash captain finished with four saves against Seattle today.
The Dash captain came off her line in the 80th minute to deny Dahlien in a one-on-one opportunity. Campbell dropped low to make the save on Dahlien’s right-footed effort from inside the box.
Houston’s final chance of the night came in the second minute of stoppage time following a free kick awarded following a foul. The Dash kept the ball alive with a series of headers inside the box before goalkeeper Claudia Dickey made the save.
