Forward Michaela Abam has been called up by the Cameroonian Women’s National Team for their upcoming camp during the final international window of the 2022 competition calendar.

Abam and Cameroon will play two friendlies against Senegal on November 10 and 13 in Dakar, Senegal. Abam rejoins the Cameroon WNT after playing in the Women’s African Cup of Nations Tournament earlier this year. Abam scored a goal in the third minute of the match against Tunisia in the final match of group play. The Indomitable Lionesses are still vying for a bid to the 2023 Women’s World Cup and are set to play in the FIFA Women’s World Cup Intercontinental playoff against Thailand early next year.

Abam made 12 appearances and threes starts during the NWSL regular season. Abam’s first start of her NWSL career came in Houston’s season opener against the San Diego Wave on May 1. Abam joined her hometown club midway through the 2021 NWSL regular season.
