Six Houston Dash players called up by respective national teams

The Houston Dash will have six players on international duty during the FIFA international window this month.

Forward Michaela Abam has joined the Cameroonian Women’s National Team as they prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Intercontinental Playoff. The Indomitable Lionesses are vying to clinch one of the last remaining places in this summer’s World Cup. They face Thailand on Feb. 18 in the semifinal match of the playoff.

Forward Michelle Alozie has been called up by the Super Falcons as they prepare to participate in the Women's Revelations Cup 2023 in Mexico. Alozie and Nigeria will face Mexico in the opening match of the tournament on Feb. 15. The Super Falcons will take on Colombia on Feb. 18 for the second match of the Revelations Cup. The three-game tournament comes to an end on Feb. 21 as Nigeria faces Costa Rica.

Canadian midfielder Sophie Schmidt and defender Allysha Chapman are set to compete in the 2023 SheBelieves Cup hosted by the United States Women’s National Team. Canada will face the USWNT in the opening game of the tournament on Feb. 16 at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, FL. Canada will play Brazil in Nashville three days later. The SheBelieves Cup closes out in Frisco, Texas at Toyota stadium on Feb. 22 with Canada playing Japan.

As the world prepares for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup this summer, Australia – the co-host nation—is preparing by hosting the Cup of Nations tournament. Midfielder Havana Solaun and the Reggae Girlz will travel down under in a primer for this summer’s games. Jamaica kicks off the tournament against Spain on Feb. 16 and three days later they will face Czechia. The Reggae Girlz will close out the Cup of Nations tournament against the host country on Feb. 22.

Forward Ebony Salmon has once again been called up by the Lionesses as England prepares to host the 2023 Arnold Clark Cup. Salmon join the reigning European champions as they kick off the tournament against Korea Republic on Feb. 16. On Feb. 19, the Lionesses will host Italy in the second match of the tournament. England closes out the Arnold Clark Cup against Belgium on Feb. 22.
