The Houston Dash announced its preseason roster earlier today prior to the first training session as the team prepares for the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) regular season.
The Dash will open camp with 23 players on the first day of training at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4 at Houston Sports Park. American Jane Campbell, Canadians Lindsay Agnew, Allysha Chapman and Nichelle Prince, England’s Rachel Daly, Australian Clare Polkinghorne and Jamaica’s Kayla McCoy will report to camp later this month after international duty for their respective countries.
Midfielder Meleana Shim and forward Kyah Simon will not report to camp while rehabilitating from offseason injuries. Shim is recovering from offseason surgery and Simon is recovering from a hamstring injury. Forward Kimberly Keever has left the team to return to the University of Washington and forward Savannah Jordan retired from professional soccer.
Additionally, the club waived Sammy Jo Prudhomme who will join the Washington Spirit for preseason.
Five of Houston’s six draft picks at the 2019 NWSL College Draft will report to camp on Monday as Houston prepares for its first year under James Clarkson.
