The Houston Dynamo Academy kicked off its 2017-18 season on Saturday in the DFW Metroplex with matches against Solar Soccer Club.

“It has been a different preseason on and off the field dealing with the storm and its effects on everyday life, home, school and soccer,” said Dynamo Academy director James Clarkson. “We are excited to get the season going and to start to compete. We have some exciting players coming through and I look forward to seeing them progress.”

U-13: 4-1 win. Camden Williams, Jabobo Betancourt, Ricardo Garcia, and Alex Oropeza scored the goals for the Dynamo – all in the first 40 minutes of their 70-minute match.

U-14: 2-0 win. Late goals from Daniel Hernandez and Luis Lugo secured the first win of the year.

U-15: 1-0 loss. A 61st minute penalty kick downed the Dynamo.

U-19: 2-1 loss. Solar pushed out to a 2-0 lead with goals in the 22nd and 28th minute. Damian Magallan scored just before halftime, but the Dynamo couldn’t find an equalizer.
