El Paso Locomotive announced earlier today that former Dynamo Academy midfielder, Luis Moreno, will join the Club for the 2023 season.

“Luis is a hard-working and passionate young man, and he has been a pleasure to mentor since I have arrived here in Houston,” Dynamo Academy general manager, Tony Vigil said. “As we continue to refine our professional pathway here at the club, Luis is a fine example of how we will continue to develop young professional players that are able to play at different professional tiers in this country. I am happy for Luis, his family and wish him the best in this next chapter of his journey.”

Moreno is the youngest player to sign a professional contract for the Locomotive and departs the Dynamo Academy after representing the program from the U-12 level. The Houston native joined the Dynamo Academy in 2018 and most recently competed at the U-17 level.

The 16-year-old also represented the academy with the U.S. Boy’s National Team in the U-17 category in 2022 and 2021.
