Ekić joined the Dash following a transfer from Lexington SC in the USL Super League. The midfielder scored two goals and added four assists last season after earning Player of the Year honors during the league’s inaugural 2024/25 campaign with Spokane Zephyr FC, where she recorded 10 goals and six assists, earned All-League First Team recognition and scored the first goal in club history.
Ekić began her professional career with Racing Louisville FC after being selected fifth overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft. She debuted in April 2021 and contributed to the club’s first-ever victory with a goal and an assist against the Washington Spirit. She later played for Melbourne City FC, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances and helping the team reach the 2023/24 Cup Final.
At the international level, Ekić represents Bosnia and Herzegovina and debuted in 2023. She has competed in UEFA Nations League and European Championship qualifiers, scored her first international goal in 2024 and recorded her first brace in a FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier on March 7, 2026.
