As part of the MLS Works Greener Goals Week of Service, the Houston Dynamo FC and the Houston Dash volunteered with A Recipe for Success at Hope Farms on Thursday, April 13th with the support of Texas Pride Disposal.

"It was so fabulous to see the players out here doing deep and important work," said Grace Canvar, founder of Hope Farms. "It's inspiring to see them get their hands dirty, inspiring for the fans of the Dynamo and Dash as well and inspiring for our team as well. We loved having the Dynamo and Dash here at Hope Farms!"

Alongside Dash players Shea Groom, Nichelle Prince, and Ella Dedrick, Dynamo right back Griffin Dorsey and Club President Jessica O'Neill, volunteers participated in various activities ranging from beautification projects, trash removal and hauling away, packaging seeds for farming, and much more.

A Recipe for Success Foundation has led the way in combatting childhood obesity by changing the way children understand, appreciate and eat their food by helping the community provide healthier diets for kids. In just a few years, their hands-on curriculum grew to the largest outreach of its kind in the nation, empowering over 4,000 children each and every month with their evidence-based, signature Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education.

Celebrating it's sixth season, MLS Works' Annual Greener Goals Week of Service consists of league-wide efforts conducted on and off the field to highlight Major League Soccer’s commitment to environmental sustainability, including efforts around waste reduction. All 29 MLS clubs and League office staff will volunteer their time to conduct environmentally friendly projects in partnership with local charitable organizations.
