Houston Dash acquire forward Jasmyne Spencer from OL Reign

The Houston Dash acquired forward Jasmyne Spencer through a trade with OL Reign, the Club announced today. The Dash traded a natural third round draft pick for the 2022 NWSL Draft as part of the deal.  


Spencer joins the Dash after being part of the Reign’s squad for three seasons since joining in 2018 scoring two goals in 23 appearances. The Long Island, New York native brings international experience to Houston after spending multiple seasons in Australia’s W-League with Sydney FC, Canberra United and Melbourne City for three season total. With Sydney FC, Spencer scored a total of 12 goals in 27 appearances.  


The attacking winger began her professional career in 2012 when she joined the New York Fury in the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPSL), scoring three goals in 10 matches. Since then, Spencer was part of the Washington Spirit in 2013, Western New York Flash in 2014-15, and Orlando Pride in 2016-17 before joining OL Reign.  


Spencer enjoyed a decorated four-year collegiate career at the University of Maryland from 2008 to 2012 earning two-time first team All-ACC honors. Throughout her four years at Maryland, Spencer scored 20 goals for the Terps.
