Houston Dash forward Michelle Alozie will join the Nigerian Women’s National Team for its upcoming training camp, the federation announced. Â
Alozie was named to Nigeria’s provisional squad list for the 2022 Africa Women's Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cote d'Ivoire this month. The 24-year-old joined Nigeria at the end of 2021 for a training camp in Wuse, Abuja, Nigeria.Â
The American-born Nigerian player was first called up to the Nigerian WNT in 2021 for the U.S. Soccer Summer Series and made her international debut at PNC Stadium against Jamaica. A few days after her debut, Alozie scored her first international goal for the Super Falcons against Portugal. Â
Alozie is currently participating in her second preseason with Houston. The forward joined the Dash during the 2021 preseason and signed as a National Team Replacement Player in July. She finished with four appearances during the 2021 regular season.
